Paneer (Cottage Cheese) โ€“ For this recipe I have used 200 grams of Paneer that I cut into cubes.

Spices โ€“ We will need, red chilli powder and turmeric powder for this recipe, however, you may also add coriander powder and garam masala for extra taste.

Seasoning โ€“ We will add salt as per taste.

Fats โ€“ These Masala Paneer Tawa Fry can be fried in oil and butter. Butter gives a rich taste hence I have used butter in this recipe.

Yes, you can use oil, however, butter gives a rich flavour to this dish.

Can I bake instead of frying?

Yes, Bake at 180ยฐC (350ยฐF) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Variations

Tandoori Version โ€“ To give a tandoori-style twist, mix in some curd along with ginger-garlic paste, garam masala and some chaat masala. Marinate for 20 minutes and fry or grill.

Using Herbs โ€“ To give a fusion twist to these Masala Paneer Tawa Fry, sprinkle Italian seasoning or dried oregano while serving instead of chaat masala.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Paneer
  • 1 tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
ย 

  • Cut paneer into small bite-size cubes.
  • Add spices, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
  • Gently toss the paneer cubes and let them marinate in the spices for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat butter in a pan, and place the paneer cubes.
  • Fry these paneer cubes on a medium flame for about 4-5 minutes till they are golden brown in colour.
  • Fry paneer from all sides and do not overcook it as they tend to become stiff and chewy.
  • Delicious crispy spicy paneer bites are ready.
