This mango milkshake has its origin in Pune, a state in Maharashtra but has become so popular over the years that, you can find it mainly all over Maharashtra.

This creamy rich Mastani is a local favourite during summers and is one of the most satiating desserts full of mango flavour.

This drink looks as if so much effort goes into making it, but actually, itโ€™s one of the simplest and easiest drinks to make with only a few ingredients.

Ingredients

Mango โ€“ The best mangoes to make this traditional drink is to use fresh ripe and sweet Alphanso mangoes. If you do not have access to fresh mangoes, you can use store-bought frozen mango pulp.

Milk โ€“ To get that thick, rich and creamy texture, full-fat milk is preferred.

Ice cream โ€“ I personally like to use both flavours of ice cream in my Mango Mastani. I add a scoop of mango ice cream and vanilla ice cream which balances the flavours perfectly.

Dry Fruits โ€“ Dry fruits add a nice crunch and texture to this Mastani, I love to top my Mastani with almonds and pistachios. You can add nuts of your choice and also can totally skip adding nuts if you are allergic or do not like it.

Cherries โ€“ This is optional, but itโ€™s a signature topping for this dish. I have used glazed cherries here which are easily available at any Indian grocery store.

Storage Options

Mango Mastani can be stored in the refrigerator for a day. Serve chilled with toppings.

How to Make Mango Mastani Recipe (Serving For 2)

Mango Mastani (Mango Milkshake)

Note:

Here I have not used sugar as the mango was very sweet. If you like your mango Mastani very sweet then do add sugar according to your taste.

I have used fresh Alphonso mangoes here, you can also use canned mango puree if fresh mangoes are not available.

Instead of using two different ice creams as I have used in this recipe, you can make this Mastani only by adding vanilla ice cream or mango ice cream.
