Prawn / Kolambi โย I have used 200 grams of medium-sized frozen prawns fromย Fresh To Homeย which are de-veined.
If you are using frozen then thaw it before you start marinating them.
If you are using fresh prawns, make sure to de-shell & de-vein them and wash them thoroughly under water.
Rava (Semolina): This will give that nice crunchy coating to these succulent prawns.
Rice Flour (Chawal Ka Atta): Rice flour helps the rava (semolina) stick to the prawns and gives a light, crispy coating to the prawns.
Spices & Herbs โย We will require, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and salt.
Tamarind Pulp โย To give that hint of tanginess, we will add a teaspoon of tamarind pulp. You can also use Lemon juice instead.
Oil โย We will need 4-5 tablespoons of oil to shallow fry

- 4-5 tablespoons Oil, to shallow fry
Instructionsย
- Marinate prawns with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste, tamarind pulp and salt. Marinate for 15 minutes.
- For coating, in a mixing plate, add rava (semolina), rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder. Mix well.
- Coat the marinated prawns with spiced rava mixture and shallow fry.
- Flip and fry from both the sides until crisp.
