Kairi Chutney | Raw Mango Chutney Recipe

Kairi chutney is a flavourful spicy and tangy accompaniment made using fresh raw mangoes (kairi) along with coriander leaves (cilantro), freshly scraped coconut, garlic, green chillies and spices.
This is a spicy & tangy condiment made with firm raw mangoes (kairi). This is vegan, no oil, gluten-free, beginner-friendly recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Raw Mango, peeled & roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Coconut
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 2 Green Chilles
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1/4th cup Coriander Leaves (Cilantro)
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar (adjust according to the sourness of kairi)
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. In a blender add, roughly chopped raw mangoes (kairi) and fresh coconut
  2. Add roughly chopped garlic, ginger, green chilles & cumin seeds.
  3. Season with salt and sugar.
  4. Add coriander leaves, roughly chopped
  5. Blend all the ingredients to a coarse paste.
  6. Tangy Kairi Chutney (Raw Mango Chutney) is ready
  7. Serve it as a side dish with meals or snacks.

Notes

I have blended this chutney to a coarse paste, but you can blend it to a fine paste depending on your preference.
Do not add water to make this chutney. 
You may also add 1/4th cup of peanuts to give a nutty taste to this chutney.
