Nimbu Pani (Shikanji) | Indian Lemonade

Shikanji is a popular Indian drink made using fresh lemon juice that is spiced up with a unique blend of masala and served chilled.
This is a tangy, sweet vegan and gluten-free refreshing drink.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Lemons
  • 3 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Black Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Table Salt (Namak)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 3 glasses Chilled Water OR Club Soda
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 tablespoons Mint, coarsely pounded

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl squeeze juice of 3 lemons, discard the seeds.
  • Add powderd sugar
  • Add salt and black salt.
  • Add the cumin & coriander powder and mix well.
  • Now add chilled water or you may also add club soda. Mix well so that the spices and sugar are nicely combined with the lemon juice.
  • Add pounded mint and some ice cubes.
  • Refreshin Nimbu Pani (Shikanji) is ready.
  • Transfer into glasses and serve chilled.

Notes

Colour of the juice may vary according to the colour of the spices used.
